Dark Days...

I'm trying to toughen myself up to prevent the pain from seeping in... the lost of a pet could really bring you down. To all pet owners who had lost their pets in the past, my belated condolescence...

Two days prior my 20th birthday, my friends Eddy & Sam brought over the most wonderful and surprising gift, two adorable hamsters as my early birthday gift... The two instantly became the attention of my housemates of the same floor and my most prized possession. The two were named Barnie and Minnie as they told me that they were a pair.

On the before my birthday, Barnie caught a strange disease that made his eye bulge out...it was terrifying to watch so I got my friend who was going to Ipoh the next day to bring him to the vet... by the time they got back it was too late... Barnie's eye was blind and his other eye was sealed shut...It was painful to see him suffer and around 3am the next morning he passed...

"Minnie" who turns out to be a "Mickey" instead was my only companion now that Barnie has gone to heaven. I spent big bucks trying to keep his cage clean and sanitised, buying him toys like the hamster ball and the sanitiser from the pet shop...he was happy and healthy until yesterday where he started to sleep for the whole day and got all sloppy in his movements...

At first, I thought he was hibernating but it turned out to be more than that... In the afternoon, he passed on to join Barnie... I am now in pain .... gut wrenching pain just took over me when I saw him lying there motionless as if he was sleeping but not reacting when i called his name...

I cried... but no amount of crying could numb me from the pain... it's so sad to lose a pet.I'm crying as I'm writing this... I hope I'll get over this soon...

HE REPLIED... !!! ^^

oh happy, happy day...!!I could finally get started on my 3rd journalism assignment- interview a sports journalist and write a soft news. I am so happy that the rough and arrogant sounding man from the other end of the phone actually took the time to reply my interview questions.

I was so nervous yesterday when i called The Sun Daily and asked if I could interview their sports journalist. The receptionist or phone operator connected me to the sports section where a "blur-blur" journalist answered the phone. After a brief introduction, he cut me off and ask me to talk to his editor instead. Getting really nervous by now, I stammered a little while talking to the editor of the sports section of the Sun Daily.

The man who answered has a rough and a hint of frustration in his voice. When I stated my purpose and inquired whether I could interview one of his journalists he just said," send it to me." which caught me completely by surprise. Grabbing the chance, I asked for his e-mail address and ask when he will be able to reply. He just gave a short laugh and said," I'm always busy, the soonest maybe by tomorrow."...

His reply really made me nervous ... and questions keep popping up in my mind after i hung up the phone, what if he didn't reply in time, what if he just don't reply etc. Well, the real surprise came when I opened my mail this evening. There it was, his reply in my in-box with all the question answered beautifully and in much detail. I'm so happy that I have to share this news with my group-mates!!

I'm glad I took the effort to call him and ask for the chance of interviewing him. Hurrah!! and thank GOD that he replied!!

P.S: anyone looking for a job in the newspaper industry? He is looking for a sports sub-editor to start in May.
Requirements : must be computer savvy and love all types of sports apart from football.
No experience, no problem^^

That's all from me after such a long time of silence.. wish you all a happy, happy day ahead! ^^
